Henry Russell Canine died this morning May 9, 1934 at his home 144 Fourth St at the age of 86. Henry Russell Canine was born June 8, 1847 at Waveland, Indiana. He joined the Baptist Church at the old home place two miles North of Waveland and was baptized in the Sugar River at the Canine Deers Mill. His marriage to Nancy Victoria Dawson occurred Oct 28, 1875. Of the six children born to this union, four survive: Roy C and Mrs. Minnie Alice Apollo, Medford; Mrs. Eva Marie Voss, Ashland and Mrs. Mary Ann Miner, Berkley, Cal. 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. The Canines came to Oregon in 1892 making their home in Ashland during the past 20 years. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Dodge Chapel; interment to be in Mountain View Cemetery. - kbz
